Customer, Jacqueline Reid (Kirkcaldy, Fife):
After losing my 19 year old granddaughter earlier this year, I toyed with the idea of doing a slideshow at the funeral. I wanted to let everyone know we were celebrating her life not her passing.
I discussed it with the funeral directors to see if it would be possible as I’d never heard of it being done before let alone being allowed, also where on earth would I get a screen to show it on? Would the crematorium have such a thing?
To my surprise and delight she said it was possible and passed Daniel’s details, from Pictured Memories, on to me and said he would provide the screen. Within days photos were emailed, music picked and Daniel came through to our home town to personally show us the first draft.
Needless to say we were delighted with the end result, it showed our granddaughter’s life from start to end. With pictures handpicked to mark the important events and people in her life with music to match her personality.
I can’t thank Daniel enough for the pleasure he brought to so many people at such a sad time in our lives and the DVD that will mean so much to her young baby as she grows up.

Customer, Irene Thomson (Kirkcaldy, Fife):
My mother died recently and, faced with the funeral arrangements, I decided that I wanted to include some kind of presentation using the paintings from her lifetime as an artist.
After some discussion with the Funeral Director, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was a company prepared to produce a professional presentation of her work.
I met Daniel from Pictured Memories and he asked for suitable material, including newspaper clippings and old photographs, that he very quickly transformed into an excellent DVD.
We were all delighted with the result – an appreciation of her life and work – containing graphics with musical accompaniment. Everyone who saw the presentation at the funeral was impressed by it and a number of people requested a private copy, resulting in us ordering an extra 15 copies, two of them in a DVD format for Canada.
I would not hesitate to recommend Pictured Memories to anyone for this type of service that I had been previously unaware of. It took the weight off my shoulders at a very busy but extremely sad point in my life.
This DVD is a beautiful keepsake that I will always treasure.

“Thanks again for putting together such a beautiful video tribute to Mum. Many people have already commented on how much it added to the service and how it brought back great memories of happier times – which is just what we wanted. I know Mum would have loved it.”
“I’m also very grateful for the work you put in to produce this so quickly and make sure it was perfect. We’ll recommend your services to the funeral director (Co-op) and won’t hesitate to pass on your details to anyone else looking for a similar service.”
Customer, Nan Henderson (Currie, Edinburgh):
The death of a parent is tremendously distressing and the trauma of the funeral can be harrowing. As I had made a photograph album of my mother’s life on her 90th birthday the previous year, it was suggested by Porteous (Juniper Green, Edinburgh) funeral directors, that I might have a DVD of the photographs and captions accompanied with my mother’s favourite Glen Miller music. It was excellent and provoked many happy memories. My mother had suffered from dementia for many years and the DVD showed my Mum’s personality as she was before the dementia. It was lovely and everyone enjoyed the tribute to Mum.

Customer, Pamela Baird (Fife):
When my mother-in-law passed away earlier this year, we wanted a funeral which reflected her character and personality. Pictured Memories helped us gather photographs from relatives and friends which spanned the generations. Daniel listened to our requirements and compiled the photos so that they would play in the background during the service. The quality of our original photographs in some cases were quite poor but Daniel was able to enhance and improve these so they could be included. Daniel was considerate and thoughtful in his approach and we cannot thank him enough for all his help and support in giving my mother in law the send off she deserved. I would recommend the service to anyone wanting a professional, considerate and efficient service.
